The Millocchio Rosso primarily comes from the old vineyards of the Millocchio vineyards. It is an assemblage of  separate fermentations of Alicante, Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo grapes, done by following the philosophy of natural wine: spontaneous fermentation with wild yeasts, long maceration on the skins, no substances added and no filtration. No SO2 is used in any step of fermentation, processing and bottling, while nitrogen, an inert gas, is used to protect the wine from contact with oxygen during racking and bottling. This wine is aged for 10 months in 500 liter used oak barrels and another 6 months in bottles before leaving the cellar.
The Millocchio Rosso is a wine rich in aromas and flavors with a good acidity and mellow tannins.
Presently the Millocchio Rosso can be found in Austria at Vinifero (Vienna), in Denmark at Il Buco (Copenhagen), in Japan at Terravert (Tokyo), in Italy at Bibo Potabile (Toscana) at Rollingwine (online shop) and at La Valigia di Bacco (Sicily), in The Netherlands at Vinum Naturale / Angolo Vinoso (Amsterdam), in USA at Scuola di Vino, in Australia at VinoMito.
